1967 pontiac lemans rearend

hello,im try'n to find out what size carrier might be in a 67 lemans 8.2 or 8.5? just dont wanna take mine apart now in the winter.i can pick one up a 8.5 posi carrier with 3.55 gears cheap.just would like to find out if its gunna work for me. Thanks Ron

if you have access to codes on your car... ie... the drivers door or vin here is a great source to breakdown the information on your car....

hope this helps... also you should be able to drive it to a drive train specialist and they could read the tag on your rear to tell if yours would be compatible with what you are looking at.

As I recall the carrier changed in 68 and then again in 73 when it went to the 8.5 but it's been too many years since I worked on any of those...I believe you're going to have the 8.2 in a 67....
