Hello all,

I'm a newbe to the chat room and new to classic car world. I'm considering getting a project car for my 15 yr. old son and I to work on but I have alot of Questions. I hope I'm looking in the right place for advise. The cars we are looking at are 1970 buick GS, 1967 Impala SS or an 1960 Impala ss. What I need to know is wich car would be the easeist one to restore in terms of part finding and afordability. I'm not in a hurry to get started and would rather take my time finding the right project to improve the chances that it gets completed. Thanks for any help in advance.

Welcome to this site, I don't know much about certain gm's, as I am mostly a ford guy but, I would go with the 67 impala ss as those are a pretty popular car, which I would believe has a good after market in terms of parts. Do you plain on doing a pretty quick restoration, or just someting that you and your son could work on over time, like a period of 3 years or more. Anyways have fun with what you end up doing, and post up pics of the car when you find one.
Good Luck
Dave

Welcome, always good when the yunguns join the battle:D

My personal fav is the buick gs, but for eas, go with the 67, easier to find stuff, good luck.

Hmm, I guess, in my book all classics are good, better seeing them restored than going to the crusher.

The GS is an awesome car but would cost more to build the motor than the Chevy... rule of thumb... Chevies are always the cheaper way to go and the availability of parts is greater. That's why so many street rodders make their cars into cross dressers because its easier to get parts for the chevies than the other makes. As for what is worth more... Definitely the GS

Welcome aboard... there are some faithful few who hang here... so ask your questions...

Welcome aboard... I'd build the one I liked the best(or found the best deal on)..I like the Buick myself. Never heard of a 60 SS though......
