When I took the head off my 69 351w, I was suprised to find it had dished pistons, the factory comp ratio was supposed to be 10.75:1, the same pistons I have for my rebuilder 84 block with 8.5:1 ratio. Does this seem odd?

I am going to be putting in another 84 block that has flattop pistons and need to be careful what heads I run to keep the compression down a little, can't use the 69 heads due to the quarter size hole in the combustion chamber for #1cyl. I would like to use a set of 97 5.0gtp heads if I can make them work out. The only other heads I have are factory asthmatic truck heads I don't want to use. Need to get this figured out soon so I can get the chero up and running this spring, any insight would be helpful.

As it sits now, I am using an 84 block with flattop pistons, a used but re-ringable engine, and a set of 78 casting heads with roller rockers I picked up from a buddy. Anyone want to venture a guess at the estimated comp ratio? I am waiting for a little cash for a set of rings and to get the crank turned since the last rebuilder just tossed bearings at it but it has a couple main journals that have a nasty spot on them that caused premature damage to the bearings, maybe old rust spots. Financial difficulties have halted progress but hopefully not for long, would like to get it going by the end of May.
