Name that Mopar Factory Engine Size.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name that Mopar Factory Engine Size.
Here is a little game I came up.
Lets try to name all Mopar Gas Engines.
Rules = Only cubic inch or Liter engine size in each post, you cannot name a engine size that has already been mentioned, and the size must be factory, no bored out or stroker engine.
I will start.

Clydesdale-2
These were 2 HorsePower,Had Injection and a LOUD exhaust that were messy. The Accelarator had a Huge Crack when whipped...
The NOS(Nasty Old Straw)was used to settle it down at night.
The EMERGENCY Brakes were attatched to a Bag at the Rear of the engine and when applied would make a HUGE SCREECH.
he he he
Also the 400C.I. has not been mentioned yet..

Whats the biggest engine chrysler ever put in a muscle car?
This one usually gets you right off the bat until you think about it.( )
198/6 in what I have in my 71 Swinger.
Depends if you're talking about HorsePower or CuIn..
HorsePower would be the 450HP HEMI(Because the 500HP was Only Offered as a SPECIAL ORDER in 68 Dart/Barracudas(LO/BO-SuperStock)).
CuIn would be the 390 HP 440-SixPak...
Am I Correct?

Takes up the most space...But it's not a musclecar if it has one of those.;)

Mine's a 230. The small Mopar flathead 6 was introduced in the early 30s as a 201, later growing to a 218 (some call this version a 217) and finally the 230. There was a larger block version used in later Canadian Plymouths and later Dodges, Chryslers and larger trucks. There was also yet another larger block version used in the largest trucks that was made in displacements of up to 413 cubic inches. How many people would think you'd lost your mind if you told them you had a 413 flathead? :D
Some of the medium block truck engines also came with dual carbs and a split exhaust manifold (and with dual exhaust) from the factory. And I believe it was this same engine that came with a higher compression head from the factory that said "Spitfire" on it. These are sought after for those who have these engines in a car, as are the manifolds of course.
The 230" flathead 6 was used through '59 in cars, '60 in pick-ups and beyond that in military vehicles. It was manufactured new through 1972 for industrial applications. A World War II tank used five 218" flatheads arranged in a radial configuration. It's a wild looking thing. I've got a picture of it somewhere. If I can find it I'll post it.
The Mopar flatties, like the slant six that replaced them, was known for it's durability and dependability.
