I put a set of disk brakes on my 57 Chevy, I also put on a duel master and proportional valve. It was in 1982 when the only way you could get disk brakes was to buy adapters form a hot rod shop and use 68-72 calibers form a Chevelle!! My first set had 2 hoses put together because the calibers were mounted on the front of the wheels to clear the steering arms! Any way I heard form a friend about using silicone fluid instead of regular fluid. A buddy of mine gave me the fluid, it was in a Gal. military container. I never touched the fluid in the system until I installed a booster and a set of disks on my new 9" in 1994. The fluid was in the same condition as I put it in, clear!! The other good thing is, if you have anything painted it won't hurt the paint. Not to mention the seals!! It's worth it and most systems are less than a QT of fluid!! ;)

Silicone brake fluid is great for usage in older cars that don't get driven much. Since silicone brake fluid does not attract and hold moisture the same way that conventional brake fluid does.
