I know you all have that special idea of a hotrod in your head.... what is your dream project car.....

I had a 77 Chevy Malibu station wagon at one time I had actually wanted to take the doors from an El Camino same year...or a two Malibu and build a 77 version of a Chevy Nomad...the body lines would have been very accomodating...money at the time was an issue. Can you just imagine the room in the rear section of a Station wagon....the cargo area turning into a serious tub room....of course you have to tub it and suck the wheels under the car...but just allow enough space for the NOS bottle between the two wheels. Then stuff a seriously Blown 454 into the engine compartment....of course you have to compliment it all with the built tranny to boot. Take that to the grocery store to load up on a weeks worth of groceries.... Yeah I had dreams but then came RED.... the wagon is history but the idea still remains....that would have been one seriously cool DRAGON WAGON...

So let me hear your ideas of re designing that certain car.... you just never know...

My first car was a 1991 Mercury Gran Marquis Colony Park. That's the last year of the full-size station wagons from Ford. It was a hand me down, and it didn't run very well. I had plans for an injected 408 Windsor, 4R70w with a J-mod, narrowed 9", and a tub. Then top all that off by paneling the rear quarter windows, and putting in a huge stereo. At the time I was 17 and had 3 grand to work with, and had to get the approval of my parents. Instead I priced out fixing the minor issues and building a 347, figuring that's be a good start and work my way to what I wanted. Needless to say my parents aren't into cars so I was rejected, but I nearly bought a wagon on Ebay recently, and still continue to search.

My other dream car is the 72 Torino, all I need to do is get the money for what I want. 393 Cleveland, big heads, roller cam, built C6, 9" disc rear, new interior, ram air hood, lots more. I'll likely wind up with a 460/C4 combo until I build the cleveland.

My first vehicle was a 1983 Pontiac Bonneville station wagon. I wanted to put on some Pontiac Rally II wheels and install a SS Monte Carlo engine and dual exhaust system. Unfortunately that never happened.

I think I would consider myself somewhat lucky at this point. I was born a Mustang guy, I always liked the 64 1/2 - 66 Mustang coupes. Although it was a beater, I had a 64 1/2 coupe that happened to be the right car at the right time.
That said I think I'm closer now. I have probably owned 35 to 45 cars since I have started driving. After all of those cars I've discovered I like larger cars, manual transmissions, the sound of dual exhaust vs. hearing the radio, and the ability to pass without downshifting.
I pretty sure my Gran Torino is gonna be pretty close to perfect when I get done. The problem is as I'm getting closer to finishing it I'm contemplating what the next perfect car is.

Eventhough I am a Bowtie guy with the Camaro, if I had the time, and a good base car to start with, I would like to get a '68 or '69 Dodge Dart and build a Hemi Dart clone.

You don't see them often in any form, from stock to radical, which is appealing to me. I would probably use a crate motor, a 727 and the big sure-grip. My first color choice would be triple black but Sublime Green with a black hood and black sonic stripes down the sides, would run a close 2nd.

I guess I have my dream car now only in unfinished form:D . I would like to complete the restoration of my '55 in "almost" pure original form. ("almost" meaning adding AC and disc brakes). That said, my next best "dream car would be a completely original '67 Z28, completely restored:cool: . Next would be '68/69 Hemi Cuda ala Sox & Martin pro-stock style.;)

They never made a really cool 69 Barracuda... The best one had ugly scoops and an ugly stripe so I am making a 70 wannabe cuda out of a 69..I'll be using 70 style touches where ever I can on this car...Shaker, fog lamps, steering wheel, Maybe even a hockeystick stripe..Still in the works on this one.I'm going to build better looking roll pans for it too..SO it's pretty ugly right now but it gets better every time I get up to NC to dabble on her..http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v299/Daffy427/BarracudaShaker016.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v299/Daffy427/Sanford003.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v299/Daffy427/BarracudaShaker015.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v299/Daffy427/BarracudaShaker017.jpg
