I recently had surgery on my hand so I was away for a week or so, now I have just sold my house and will be moving to South Carolina.:D :D
I will be staying with family for a while while the new house is being built and probably will not be back on line until sometime in March.
Please keep my membership active,
I promise I will be return.
Thank you all for your hospitality and for the uplifting conversations.

The cost of living has gone thru the roof since the last three hurricanes. It cost me 15 grand to rerplace my roof last year. The move to SC will put me back into some colder weather but I will be away from hurricanes.
Housing in the Greenville area is 1/3 of what it is in Fla.

15k for a roof! Yeah, I'd move too I reckon!
I lived in Columbia, S.C. for a few years in the late 80's and early 90's, I liked it there but summers are too hot and humid for me. But Greenville is closer to the mountains and a bit cooler in the winter, and is a very nice area to live in, from what I hear.
God speed on your recovery, good luck with the move! :)

Many people seem to be heading to S. Carolina in recent years. Most people in my age group are leaving NY State (can't say I blame them) and most head to the Carolina's. NY State lost 1,000,000 in population last year IIRC.
