I just bought a new car. It's a '73 AMC Javelin SST with a 304 V8. Exact price wound up being $1079. Here are some pictures.

So really this worked for a while for me, just get a point and shoot take pictures and when you have them processed have the CD made up also. If you took the pictures already, take them to be scanned and added to a disc. Then you can upload them to your computer not a hard thing to do. I think its 3.99 for a disc....at Walgreens, then just stand there and scan all of the pictures you want onto the disc. :D :D

I like the two-and-a-half-tone paint job.

Awesome car! I love those Javelins. The fenders and lines in general are beautiful.

Well, I took delivery of her today. About what I expected. Some things were worse than I thought, some were better, all around it was worth the money. Now I just need to clean the garage up so I can work on it. I made the mistake of buying this thing while I'm sorta overhauling my garage. By the way, if any of you guys like AMCs, you should talk to this guy, he has tons of them. He's selling most of them. He has a 71 AMX 401 4 speed shell he's selling. I'm also thinking of buying from him the 401 short block he has, to replace the fagged out 304 that's in it now. I'm gonna try that picture scanner business Chero was talking about, and I might be able to get some pictures up of the Jav' and my other cars.

My dads friend Bumpy used to have a '71 401 with a three speed I think. You know how the kdis around the "hood" like to trudge across the street all slow and not move across quick to make cars stop for them because they are just that ignorant? Yeah, well Bumpy had glasspacks on that thing, so when they would try that he would downshift and nail it and those punks would dive for the sidewalks lol.:D

I want glasspacks.

rethink that.....they sound great at first but..... I ran 18" Cherry Bomb glasspacks for 6 years, two months ago I put on Flowmaster 40's.....major difference....the sound is better, less interior noise....and better performance. I have Hooker super comp headers and we thought with the H pipe and packs it was the best for the performance standard.... NOT..... I kid you not, the performance on the bottom end increased tremendously off the line with the Flowmasters.....for your money....go that route. :D

cherrys don't sound good on musclecars....more of a truck part

Not so much....we had them on most all of our cars except the imports.

The point of them was always to have a "muffler" to technically be legal, but have a very unrestrictive and loud system. However, nowadays we can make more power with mufflers than even straigt pipes sometimes.

Ya, I ran glass-packs on my '75 Silverado. I might as well have been running straight-headers. When all the exhaust hangers finally rotted and my pipes 86'd themselves going down the freeway, it didn't sound any different. I got new pipes hung, and now I'm running Cherry Bomb Turbo's, which are actual mufflers. No doubt a few steps below Flowmasters, but they do offer a much mellower sound with less backfire and rattle. Back to the topic of my Jav: I'm headed to good ol' dependable Advance Auto tommorrow to pick up plugs, wires, cap & rotor and some new belts to get it to where I can atleast drive it around. Some neat little facts about the car.

-The drivers door does not open from the inside.

-The ignition does not require a key, but if I turn the ignition into the "Lock" position, I will have to take the steering column apart to get it out again.

Heres how the resto is planned in a nutshell.

-Fenders to school. Sandblast, body work, prime, seal.
-Doors to school. Remove glass, sandblast, body work, prime, seal
-Hood and Deck to school. Sandblast, body work, prime, seal.
-Store all parts
-Strip interior
-Pull engine
-Haul shell off for media blasting.
-Perform any remaining repairs to the roof, quarters, rockers.
-Weld up floor-boards
-Run necassary wiring
-Rehang all body panels and gap all body panels
-Paint (The paint-job I have in mind right now is red with a white T-stripe and possible the fender stripe as well)
-Remove doors
-Install new carpet, recovered seats, possbily new dash panel, steering wheel
-Hopefully install fresh 401.
-Sit back and drink a beer (because I'll likely be over 21 by the time this is all done)'

Sorry for the lack of pics folks, but I'm way too lazy to go get a camera right now.

Some older Mustangs had glasspacks... they sound real good.

I can't stand most Flowmaster 40s. Only the Original model. Supers and Delta-Flows sound horrible...
