I've owned quite a few cars, but only a few that are pertinent to this site ---
1957 Chevy Bel Air 4dr HT -- current love affair!
1968 Olds Cutlass -- paid $50 to have it towed away! "Betsy" was the best car I ever owned, I think!
1970 Olds Cutlass -- sold it one week after buying it for the same price as I paid because I didn't like the poor gas mileage!
1966 Chevy Impala 327, 4bbl, dual glass packs -- High School car...beat the heck out of it because my dad actually owned it! Sure with I had that one now!
1972 (?) Chevy Malibu Wagon -- POS! Sold it for a minivan! Holy cow!
Oh where oh where has all the time gone....oh where oh where can it be....with it's travails cut short and it's years gone long, oh where oh where is she!

Man that Mustang was so much fun to drive, the motor was bored 60 over it had all of the best stuff for the 70's... We had it a couple years then I had a baby....so kids take precedence over cars usually. Anyhow, that car, we went through 8 clutches.... :D :D and one rear end. It was wicked nasty. The reason we went through clutches is my brother decided it should have a better clutch than the standard equipment. So he got a 11 1/2 disc and pressure plate set up that came out of a duece and a half.....I have never ever driven something with a peddle as hard as that. You would sit at the light and your leg would literally start shaking because there was so much pressure. We had to replace the clutch adjusting rods five times after that Klaus decided it was better to reinforce it with steel angle iron. After that was welded in place the rod didn't bend anymore.....it was the pedal. :D :D It was Fast, Mean, Nasty and a lot of fun. He is now wishing he had that car back. But Driving RED does make him happier. We are looking for a beast for him to drive. His heart is with the mustangs. And yes you can build a wicked 302 that can run with the big boys.

I'll list them chronologically:
1) 1984 Monte Carlo SS
2) 1988 K/5 Blazer
3) 1965 C/15 327 V8
4) 1978 Z/28 Camaro
5) 1975 K/20 Silverado
6) 1966 Wildcat GS Custom
7) 1973 Delta 88 Royale
8) 1993 VW Fox
The Blazer I sold so I could buy the Silverado. The Camaro I sold because I hate that year. The '65 I sold because I was poor and needed the money. The Wildcat got scrapped because of some inbred redneck. The rest I still have. The VW is a little gas-nazi; I love that car, it tries so hard. I'm getting the Delta 88 ready for repaint right now. The Silverado is in nice shape. It needs new rockers, bed floor, and cross-sills under the bed. The Monte Carlo has been on the back burner ever since I put a nice big crease in the passenger side fender (never drive in the winter with ice on your windshield).
BTW, if you guys know anyone who would want parts from my Wildcat, I have a ton of stuff from it taking up space in my garage. I have it listed in classifieds, please help.

WOOOOOW, you have ALL of those cars. You either have a big garage, a big yard, or a patient wife. Thats cool that you have so many vehicles, do you drive each of them regularly (insurance would be expensive) ?

I have a shop and garage for storage, which is nice. None of them sit outside, except for the daily drivers when I am too lazy to put them in the garage at night.
The wife has no say in these matters. A few years ago, she desperately wanted another kid, but I didn't. After she begged forever, I agreed that we would have another kid, but she would have to agree that I could buy as many cars as I want, and she can't complain about them. A deal was struck. She wouldn't have much say anyway, as she is a stay-at-home mom, while I work. He who makes the money controls the pursestrings, I always say.
The insurance isn't all that bad. All of the older cars are on collectors insurance though Grundy, which is very affordable. The newer vehicles aren't that bad either, since my wife and I have clean driving records, live in a relatively crime-free zip code and get discounts for using the same insurer that we use for our homeowners insurance. I know people who pay more to insure one car than we pay for six.
I drive each car at least once a month, as I don't want them sitting around and having bad things happen to them as a result. I enjoy them all so much that I just can't bring myself to sell any of them.

My first car was a 88 Mustang GT. It was a convertable so it wasnt the greatist for drag racing but it was alot of fun to just head up into the hills on a hot summer day and take the curves as fast as I could, or just cruise the beach and enjoy the sea breeze blowing though the car.
My Second car is my 75 Ranchero. I got back from my first deployment with a nice chunk of change and got the muscle car bug. I keep looking for a Torino but couldnt find a nice cheap driver. So I settled on the 75. So far Ive had the engine rebuilt and punched .40 over and .10 off the deck. I replaced the stock C-6 with a TCI C-6. I have also just recenlty finished a front end rebuild.
