Ok, I found a '69 Olds Toronado at a salvage yard a ways NW of my home. The yard is getting taken eminent domain and it's only on sale until somewhere around the 25th, at which point it will get scrapped. I was doing my usual run around the car, checking the VINs, the casting #, heads, etc. Then the tranny code caught my eye. I wiped off some grease and caught sight of the letters OM. That was the code used on W-34 Toros. I checked the heads and sure enough they were "C"s. All the VINs matched, so it was original. The guy want's something like $500-$800 for it. The car itself is in rought but manageable shape. The frame is solid, all the sheetmetal is there. The driver's side 1/4 will probably need replaced, and there are a few dents; also in the driver's side. The interior isn't trashed, but it looks like a hobo slept in it more than once. Other than that the car seems ok. The glass is fine, the bumpers aren't rotted, 3 out of four headlights are still there, and the engine turns free. Normally I wouldn't think of buying a car like this, but it's a W-34. From what I've read there are only something like 12 to 19 of these left in the US. What do you guys think, should I buy it or not?

It certainly sounds to me like something worth saving.

Sorry guys, I decided not to. I have too much on my plate as it is between MY Oldsmoboat, my truck, and my Monte Carlo. I'm going to wait until those are out of the way to start a project. But if any of you guys are selling something feel free to tell me, I'm always in the market.

I don't think so. its just a single dealership, not a chain.

Whats the name of the town this dealership is in, I could actually make a weekend of it. I could hit this dealership over the weekend, then use monday and tuesday to drive down to Tennessee and visit Nashville Auto Diesel College (we get two days out of the year to visit colleges at my school).

its called D&G Auto. its off of Hwy 175, in Richfeild, Washington county. its a smaller place, next to a gas station, but once you get on 175, and just cruise on that through Richfeild, it should have a bunch of sweet cars in front of it, you cant miss it. especially with a black '70 Charger 500 parked in front at this time. I have a card fir the place too, do you want the exact location?
