A friend of mine who owns an '82 Camaro Daytona 500 Special Edition is swapping out his blown (not the good kind of blown) 350 for a 427 he's getting from his grandfather for free. I was wondering if anyone knew if it would fit. If so how much modding and fabbing are we going to have to do to get it in. Looking at the engine and his engine bay, it looks like we'll need a shoe-horn and some Astro-Glide to get it in, but I think it will fit. Any help would be appreciated.

I've never tried that one but I can guarentee it will be a nightmare because of the shock towers... he needs to trade or sell the 427 and get a small block and some cash..Life will be a lot more easy that way.

Hooker makes a set of headers, part number 2226, for the installation of a BBC in a third gen. Installation requires that you run stock small block frame stands and motor mounts (per catalog note #145).

Besides that, I don't know anything about this swap, but it can indeed be done, and probably quite a few people have done it.
