In auto today, I walk in and the classes are set up weird. Auto II has periods 1,2,3 and we go to two classes. Soem people go 1 and three and some go 1 and 2, some go 2 and 3 like me. Anyway, I walk in and a kid that I talked to a few minutes a few days ago for a second when he asked me if I like musclecars had his VW Jetta on the lift. Its like a '95. It didnt look half bad either, he didnt have it riced out, just black rims, tinted windows, and aftermarket grill, and a stylish, non ricer, '69 SS Chevelle type exhaust tip. Anyway, he was just wiping it down underneath because we had no cars in there because we just started today after cleaning the shop for the last week. Anyway, hes pretty cool. He was talking to me again since we were all just standing around, and he said hes not big on American Muscle, but he likes Chevelles and Chargers. Then all of the ricers start talking crap including this kid that is really, really red lol. So theyre all talking crap blah blah blah, and I pretty much ignore them but throw out, "I like American muscle because I can get 490 ft lbs of torque @ 3200 rpms stock." So about 15 minutes later, he drops the lift and pops the hood, and I went over to look just for fun. He had some aftermarket plug wires, and a cold air kit, and the red kid is like "how much power and torque?" And the kid who owns the car is like "Not much more than stock, I didnt do much to it." So its obvious that this kid who owns the car isnt really a ricer, and he says he likes German cars, so hes pretty cool. So he finally says 'Like 179 ft lbs of torque, and 190 hp is what it has stock." The red kid is like "Thats some torque right there" and I just laugh. So, he backs out of the garage to go park it. I was like "Light em up" as a joke and all of the ricers are like "yeah spin 'em." So he does a pitiful one wheel burnout, that provides the amount of smoke you would expect from a wood burning stove thats on for about 5 seconds, seriously. And its a standard. I say "That was terrible" and one ricer so "cleverly" points out that it doesnt have posi traction, so only one wheel spins. I turn to him and say "Do you really think that its easier to spin two tires, when the tire with more traction is getting more power with a posi?" So he shuts up, then the red kid is like "He doesnt have slicks, its not easy for him to burnout." I can barely help but laugh, when I yell "You retard, slicks give more traction." And one ricer who obviously has some common sense goes "Yeah, hes right." So im laughing, and me and my buddy walk back inside. Then the red kid comes back in, trying to challenge me. And I explain to him that torque accelerates a car and that it also is what spins tires. I then explain the musclecars have tons of torque, and that they cant help but spin the tires and that that slows you down. He keeps coming back with a lame answer making it obvious he is confused every time, until someone just goes "Seth, youre getting shut down every time, just be quiet." So he goes into the other room, and I laugh.
