View Full Version : How I lost my '66 Wildcat

I used to have a '66 Buick Wildcat GS Custom. I found it in a field a couple years ago and got it from the owner for $650. I began stripping it down for media blasting, I took the engine out. Then we hit some financial problems and had to sell the family shop, where I was working on the 'Cat. I got most of the parts I'd taken off out of the shop, but my truck was broken down so I had to leave the engine and the car itself there temporarily. The guy who was buying the shop said he'd give us $11,000 in advance if we let him start moving his stuff into the shop early, so we did. Before I tell you what he did, take into consideration that we legally still owned the shop and everything in it at this point. A few days before the shop sale became final, I took my now repaired truck to the shop to pick up the engine and tow the car to my house. When I got there this idiot informed me that more than two weeks earlier he had my car and the engine scrapped. I nearly killed him (that is, after the paramedics revived me from my rage induced cardiac episode). No joke, I only left after he threatened to call the cops. I don't remember everything I said, but knowing my temper I likely elaborated on more than a few things I was going to do to him. He claimed that the engine was locked up, which is impossible, or else I wouldn't have been able to get the torque-converter off. Then he said the body was junk, which is bull also. All the sheetmetal was solid from the shins up. I'm taking him to court, and he should be thankful I'm only asking for $1000. $500 for the engine, $250 for the TH400 trans, and $250 for the Posi rear-end. Tell me what you think, am I being unreasonable asking for that much?

number one, your life is worth so much more than any car. SERIOUSLY. And what your asking for is more than reasonable. Good luck with that sugar, sorry about it and I'm glad you are okay.

That guy is an idiot! I don't know if the money you're seeking is reasonable or not, but I do know that you did the right thing by not knocking the dude's head off! Have you called the police yourself and filed a criminal complaint against him for destruction of your property? What he did might be considered a crime depending on how the cops receive your complaint! Good luck. The bastard should go to jail!

I already went to the police, they said it isn't a criminal matter. *cough* lazy *cough* They said I'd have to take him to small claims court. I'm trying to decide whether I want to go that route, or just hire to italians to club him in the kneecaps.

Small claims is a waste of time in most cases

Don't say the words "cherry" and the letters "h-e-r" in the same sentance, please. You just made me barf a bit in the back of my throat.
Also, those and "knees."
