Some of you may know of this event some have only seen the movie. Well boys sign up now...$10,000.00 and a good license and car will get you in. Just in the October 2006 issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines:

Europe's most outrageous road rally will be held stateside on July 29-Aug 4 2007. Organized by Cannonball Run World events, 400 vehicles will start the 3,000 mile event from four different cities: Atlanta, Miami, New York and Washington, D.C. Pre registered participants will converge on Las Vegas before continuing on to Los Angeles. Safety is paramount, and the objective is to obtain an average speed of 61 mph over the course of the rally. Teams will negotiate 16 different checkpoints along the routes, and compete at one of four race tracks rented for the event. In the end...one winning team will be determined followed by a two day celebration. Event organizers are expecting vehicles ranging from exotic Ferraris, to American muscle cars to high horsepower Japanese imports. The event is open to all licensed drivers for an entry fee of $10,000 which covers alla accommodagtions, meals and parties. Already there are more than 100 vehicles entered. I've done a 72 mph average in the C5 on a 720 mile trip...You can't waste much time though..Have to think about that one:D

I remember that show in 2001. I loved it. my favorite posse was "Hip Hop with Pop." cause of their car in the beggining. its cool cause they won at the end. best reality tv show ever, imo.

I'll have to check the website to see how they "get in my way" so as to stop me from being able to navigate 3000 miles in just under 50 hours -- seems like a pretty easy task with two drivers traveling on the interstate ... so off to the site I go ...
