This one the guys from Muscle Car Club already know, but I figured you guys would like it too. I have a 1993 Gas-Nazi (Volkswagen Fox) which I drive to conserve gas, as well as my paycheck. Its nothing special, just the usual feat of German engineering, no power steering, no power brakes and a standard trans. The e-brake is broken as well, so I just leave it in 1st while it's parked. Well, I was parked at the local mall, and there was a nifty little ricer parked behind me. When he went to pull out, he revved the engine and neutral bombed it into reverse, ramming into my car at a good 20mph. Well, since my car was in gear, this push started it, and my little VW takes off across the parking lot, sans driver. After about 100 feet it stalled and stopped, thankfully not hitting any cars. I do have to tip my hat to German engineering on this point though, there was not one bit of damage to my car, just a little white paint on my bumper, nothing else. John Q. Nissan didn't fare quite as well though, it smashed his body kit to peices and performed a little sheet metal re-arrangement. I got my insurance card out of the car and went over to trade info with the guy, but he was so embarrassed he just put his body kit in the back seat and drove off. I tried to get a copy of the security recording, but for some legal reason, I'm not allowed.
